Wow, it feels like a lot has happened since I last sent a blog, especially for me personally. Where do I start?
Last week my Doncaster club and myself were lucky enough to meet Lord Seb Coe in a celebration of sport at the EIS in Sheffield. I enjoyed it so much, not only meeting a legend but to spend the day with my club and my coach Gary Sykes was amazing. Those kids really do bring you back down to earth! They were brill, so well done guys.
As some of you may know, I was on the Paul O Grady show on Friday 13th, where I burst through a screen to surprise two little girls who said I’m their hero. The show was all about them and to make their day special. I hope I did that for them and I really would love to keep in touch with the girls and hopefully see them at the Olympics one day. So, to Abigail and Alexandra, I’ll see you in January and we’ll have a great time. All my love girls. Xxx
Oh and last but not least, I am now an engaged lady. My boyfriend whisked me away to Disney Land Paris to propose and we had the most amazing time. I got to meet all the Disney Stars, it really was a dream.
Hopefully my next blog will be as exciting. Bye!
Haven’t wrote anything for a while, but I’ve been really busy with the World Champs and working with the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust.
Right then, where do I start? Well it’s been a pretty rough time for me in my preparations for the Worlds. Only 4 weeks exactly to the day that I fought I had an operation on my hand and I had a plate put in. I fractured my hand during training and this was a major set back for me. A broken hand didn’t stop me from competing, I did everything that I could to help fix my hand. This included, changing my nutrition and changing the way I trained in order to protect my hand at the Worlds. Unfortunately, I lost in my second fight to China. It was a very close match ending in sudden death, which she managed to score first, she then went on to win the competition. Although I didn’t win I am very happy knowing that I did my best and I am proud of myself for competing with such a bad injury. In the words of Adidads: nothing is impossible, guys!!
Anyway, I’m home now and I’ve been enjoying my rest and doing some different things to keep me busy, one including attending the Backing Talent Event for the DKH Legacy Trust here in Manchester. It was a wicked event and I learned so much from it and I hope all the young aspiring athletes did to.
Keep checking my website for updates and there will be a few surprises coming up towards the end of the year.
Bye for now

I've just competed in the 2nd British International this weekend in Manchester, it was a great competition where thirty five different countries attended, which I thoroughly enjoyed and I managed to come away with a gold medal, which gives me a real confidence boost for the World Championships in October this year. The competition used a new electronic scoring system which will also be used in the World Championships, although proving a little difficult to get used to, it's much more fair than before and I can adapt to the new system in good time for October. I'm really looking forward to the Worlds and I'm going to make sure in the next six weeks that I do the best mental and physical preparation I can. So wish me luck!!
All My Love Sarah xx
The World Cup went really well and it was a great competition for my first time back in the ring since the Olympics in August. We also used the new electronic body amours which was a good experience in preparation for the World Championships in October. I am currently in China training with the Chinese Team then we are traveling onto Korea to compete in the Chuncheon Open and do some training over there. Again, it will be electric body amours in the competition, so another chance to experience using them and the best thing about them is that its much more fair then judges haha.
Catch you later, wish me luck xx
I'm looking forward to training with the Chinese and Korean team next week here in Manchester in my preparation for the World Cup in Azerbaijan. This will be my first competition back after the Olympics and I'm really excited, but I have to keep my fingers crossed that I dont get any major injuries. This is going to be a great competition to get myself back in to the swing of things and hopefully a lot of fun to. I'll keep you updated as to how I get on.
A side from Taekwondo, I've been involved with the Dame Kelly Holmes Legacy Trust. This is amazing project to be involved in, so check out the website and see what I've been doing with the Trust and is there is any athletes out there that want to get involved then my advice is to go for it. I have learned so much from being part of it and I'm hoping to continue learning and developing.
Bye for now
This is my first blog on my new website.
It's a bit late but first of all I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who supported me throughout my taekwondo career, especially for the Beijing Olympics. I have had so many people say they watched me fight and they were cheering for me. That really means a lot to me so, thank you.
After Beijing I had major surgery on my ankle and it's been a long, hard and boring recovery. I'm ok now and I hope to be back in competition pretty soon. I've really missed training and competing and can't wait to get back in the ring.
Not sure what will be my first competition back, but I'll update you as soon as I know.
